Warmest greetings to the Bogaerts Education community!
My name is J. Rafael Ángel and I’m the pedagogical director at BIS North Campus. I have been teaching since 1999, and I have had the pleasure to work and learn in the 3 IB regions as an educator, program coordinator and teaching and learning director.
I am an educator by trade. This means that I believe that learning must never be compromised despite the challenges. I believe in accompanying children in their learning journeys and in using their experiences to shape the learning cosmos that we create.
I have been a member of the IB Educator Network (IBEN) for over a decade. I have contributed to a variety of initiatives in the IB Continuum. At present, I continue to collaborate with international schools in the capacity of consultant, workshop leader or curriculum designer.
I am forever a learner, and a firm believer in meaningful collaboration.
Welcome to Bogaerts International School, North Campus!

My name is Youri Van Leynseele and I’m the Director of Operations here at BIS North Campus. During my career I have had the pleasure to work in several destinations around the world. From opening refugee centres, over developing sustainable tourism to, of course, education.
As an IB Diploma Programme graduate myself I feel lucky to be here and help coach our students to become the best version of themselves while developing a school where diversity and inclusion are celebrated on a daily basis.
My name is Sophia Kritsineli and I am the Head of School at Bogaerts International School, South Campus. I have been an educator for over thirty years, in Europe and the Middle East, including more than a decade within the International Baccalaureate framework. Throughout my career I have been fortunate to contribute to diverse and engaging educational communities.
I view my role as the Head of School, as an opportunity to promote academic excellence, while fostering an inclusive and respectful learning landscape. I am passionate about creating collaborative and supporting learning environments where every member of the community feels engaged, productive, and respected.
If I could distil our School’s mission and vision into three key elements, these would be: community values - personal agency – growth mindset. I would like to think of our school as a model nucleus of the global community our children deserve to inherit.

I am Vasilis Iosifidis, and I bring over 10 years of teaching experience, including active participation in three IB accreditation and evaluation processes. As a passionate global citizen, I’ve had the privilege of teaching across three continents and traveling to four, broadening my perspective and enriching my teaching journey.
Being an active member of the IB Educator Network (IBEN), I’ve led workshops for international primary teachers in many countries. These experiences have deepened my commitment to lifelong learning, allowing me to grow alongside educators from around the world and use these experiences to help my colleagues at BIS grow with me.
I am a firm supporter of the IB mission and BIS vision.
My name is Valentine Lefèvre, and my journey into teaching has been quite unexpected. Having grown up and studied in the Belgian education system, I was completely unaware that other systems even existed. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at school, largely thanks to teachers who played a pivotal role in my life when I needed it most. Perhaps because I valued the teacher-student relationship so highly, I never imagined stepping into their shoes. I doubted I had what it took to bear that responsibility.
But life has a way of surprising us. Shortly after graduating, I found myself at the BIS, not entirely sure what I was getting into but convinced that there had to be another way of teaching—one more suited to today’s world, focused on growth and progress in every sense of the word.
Since then, this experience in the IB has reshaped my perspective on education and, more importantly, transformed me as a person. Teaching in an international environment, where open-mindedness and a growth mindset are central values, has become one of the most enriching experiences of my life.
Today, I’m proud to be part of this educational journey, helping students equip themselves with the tools they need to thrive in a constantly evolving world.
Hello, my name is Eva de la Casa. I am from Spain but I moved to the US after my university years. I studied law, but I went back to university and became a teacher while living in the States, many, many, many years ago.
I have been teaching and working at schools for over 22 years in different countries and schools. I truly appreciate the IB education system and love being part of an IB school. Its principles deeply resonate with me
I have 2 kids, both graduated students from BIS and now enjoying their university life.
Nothing makes me happier or prouder than seeing students graduate with confidence, enthusiasm, motivation, and essential life skills to help them navigate their futures. That—and a good cup of coffee!
Greetings to the Bogaerts Education community.
