Plogging is a sustainable initiative that was coined in Sweden. This activity combines sports like jogging with caring for the environment. At Bogaerts International School North Campus, Mr. Roberto Duro, lead PE educator, is pioneering this practice in our community.
Secondary students brought a pair of gloves, trash bags, a cap, and a set of trash grabbers, and took off for a walk around our North Campus surroundings. Mr. Duro is exploring ways to integrate service learning initiatives into our PE curriculum, and we believe that plogging offers a fantastic opportunity to integrate active lifestyles with ecology and community service.
Our secondary students went for a long walk and picked up all kinds of litter they saw along their route. We are lucky to be surrounded with open spaces that allow our students to engage in learning experiences outside the classroom, so why not work to keep our community beautiful!
It’s that simple!
Plogging is a gloval movement that anyone can join!
