As an experienced mathematics teacher, Ms. Katrijn Ganne, Our IBDP Coordinator at BIS North Campus, is constantly seeking innovative ways to engage and inspire her students on their mathematical journey. Ms Ganne is a believer in the transformative power of integrating gamification and technology into the learning experience. This dynamic approach has not only allowed her to view her students through a different lens but also has empowered her to create an environment where challenges become opportunities for growth.

The incorporation of gamification elements into mathematics lessons has allowed our students to experience motivation shifts and enthusiasm for mathematics. Whether it's turning a complex algebraic concept into a thrilling quest or transforming a challenging problem into a strategic game, these gamified experiences breathe life into the subject matter.

Likewise, the integration of technology allows us to connect with students on a deeper level. Utilising interactive platforms, educational apps, and simulations not only makes abstract mathematical concepts more tangible but also provides a window into each student's unique learning style. Through the use of analytics and feedback mechanisms, Ms Ganne has gained valuable insights into their strengths, weaknesses, and areas of interest.  

The marriage of gamification and technology in mathematics classes is a celebration of the joy of learning.
